Below you will find answers to many common questions about Day of Giving 2024.
How can I ensure my gift is counted for Day of Giving?
All gifts that are made on this online giving platform by April 19th at 11:59 PM will be counted for the 2024 Day of Giving Campaign. If you prefer to make your gift via check before April 19th, please include “2024 Day of Giving” in the memo section of your check to ensure that your gift is counted in our totals! Email us at ecsufoundation@ecsu.edu if you have additional questions.
Is my gift tax-deductible?
Yes, monetary gifts to the Elizabeth City State University Foundation are tax-deductible; however, certain gifts in which the donor receives a good or service in return for a gift are not tax-deductible or may be only partially deductible. This would apply to any gifts that have associated perks (benefits).
What is the ECSU Foundation’s federal tax ID number?
The Federal Tax ID number (also known as an EIN, Employer Identification Number) is 23-7115345. The ECSU Foundation, Inc. is a 501 (c)(3) tax-exempt organization.
How do I make a gift in honor or memory of someone?
It’s easy to celebrate the life of a friend or loved one by making a gift to Elizabeth City State University in their honor or memory. Simply select the option in the online gift portal during your transaction or write the information on the memo line of your check.
How long does it take to receive a tax receipt/acknowledgment letter?
Gifts made online are immediately e-receipted to the email address used during your transaction. Gifts that are received in our office are acknowledged within 48-72 business hours.
Can I submit a request to have my gift matched by my company?
Sure! Please check with your company’s human resources department for eligibility. You may also check if your company participates in a matching gift program here.
Can I make monthly, automatic gifts to ECSU?
Yes! You may give a specific monthly gift by credit card at an amount of your choice. Please select the recurring gift option in the online portal. With your recurring gift, you join a group of committed supporters helping to further the legacy of Viking Pride!
Why should I donate monthly?
A recurring gift is an easy way to make a big impact while staying within your budget and working with your schedule. To stop, adjust or ask questions about your recurring gift, please contact (252) 335-3225 or ecsufoundation@ecsu.edu. Please do not send credit card information via email.
Will I receive verification of my monthly gifts for tax purposes?
Monthly donors receive an annual statement reflecting the prior year's total contributions. This statement is usually mailed by the end of January.
